Ingredients
- 140g Whole almonds
- 20g Ground flaxseed or 20g LINWOODS FLAXSEED NUT MIX
- 25g Psyllium husk
- 110g Egg white
- 15g White wine vinegar
- 190g Boiling water
- You will also need2 teaspoons of BARKAT baking powder, ¼ - ½ teaspoon salt, small amount of egg yolk and fennel seeds or flavoured seed of choice.
Instructions
- Pre heat oven to 180c / fan 160c / gas 5.
- Ground the almonds into a flour, a goblet blender is good for this.
- Mix together the ground almond flour, flaxseed mix. psyllium husk, baking powder and salt.
- Add the egg white and vinegar and mix well.
- Pour in the BOILING water, mix until it forms a dough.
- Divide into 6 equal portions, then shape into bread rolls. If you dampen your hands with water this will help with the shaping.
- Brush with a little beaten egg yolk and sprinkle top with (optional)fennel seeds (or seeds of choice).
- Bake in pre heated oven for approximately 40 minutes until cooked through.
- Leave to cool on a wire rack.
- These can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 – 4 days or will freeze if you wish to store for longer.
- Each roll is: 15.00g fat / 7.00gfibre / 2.00g CHO
